The Sitecore client is itself a Sitecore application.  Advanced Users can edit the Sitecore client from within the Sitecore client.  The following steps describe how to do this:

1. Log into the Sitecore Desktop client as an Administrator User. 

2. Select the Database icon on the right hand side of the task bar.  
   
    

3. Select the Core database. 

4. Open the Content Editor.

5. Notice that the Content Editor now displays additional Items under the content tree.    
   
    
   
   You can use these Items to modify the client itself.  For example, please refer to the article Adding an Application Shortcut. 

6. Be sure to use the Database icon to switch back to the Master database when you are done modifying the client.
