Many companies use the Microsoft CRM System to manage contact data for their businesses. Contacts from a CRM system may be used in Sitecore for many purposes: for newsletters, providing access to some site sections, management of CRM data from Sitecore and others.
The CRM Security Provider module represents the data from the Microsoft CRM System as security objects in Sitecore. In Sitecore, CRM contacts are rendered as users and CRM marketing lists as roles.
This version of the CRM Security Provider module only supports Microsoft CRM v3.
Moving forward, Sitecore will support and maintain the CRM Security Provider through the Dynamics CRM Campaign Integration Module.
