Upgrading to SIP 3.3

This section describes how to upgrade SIP 3.2 installation to SIP 3.3.

Important:
To upgrade your SIP 2.2 installation to SIP 3.3 you must upgrade to SIP 3.0  then upgrade to SIP 3.1 then upgrade to SIP 3.2 and then to SIP 3.3. 

To upgrade SIP 3.2.0 rev.101202 version to SIP 3.3.0 rev.111102 release:

  1. Back up the site.
  2. Upgrade the database schema, step 1:
    • SQL Server: Execute the CMS631_BeforeInstall.sql script on each of your Sitecore databases (core, master, web and any custom Sitecore databases, but excluding the Analytics database and any Sitecore module databases you have installed).
  3. Open the Update Installation Wizard by entering the following URL in your browser: http://<hostname>/sitecore/admin/UpdateInstallationWizard.html.
    See the Update Installation Wizard Guide for more information about how to use the wizard.
  4. Install the Sitecore Intranet Portal 3.3.0 rev. 111102 update package using the wizard:
    1. Upload the update package using the wizard.
    2. Analyze the package.
    3. Install the package.
  5. Upgrade the database schema, step 2:
    • SQL Server: Execute the CMS631_PostInstall.sql script on each of your Sitecore databases (core, master, web and any custom Sitecore databases, but excluding the Analytics database and any Sitecore module databases you have installed). This script updates the database schema to Sitecore CMS 6.3.1.
  6. Update the following configuration files. You can find the exact strings to update on the Configuration Files page.
    • /Web.config
  7. Clear your browser's cache. In Internet Explorer this is done via the menu Tools » Internet Options » Browsing History » Delete » Delete Temporary Internet Files.
  8. Rebuild the search indexes and the link database in the master and the core databases. You can do this using the wizards available via the Sitecore desktop link Sitecore » Control Panel » Database.
  9. Delete the <webroot>/temp/dictionary.dat file to regenerate the Dictionary (only necessary if any of your editors use other client languages than English).
  10. Update AD sample code if necessary.
  11. If you have your custom login page then make sure the loggedin pipeline is run in case of successful login.
  12. If you are using client languages other than English, download and import the latest translations from the Client Translations page.
