Authorization Fundamentals / Commerce Roles Fundamentals |
Content development roles are assigned to staff with responsibilities for Sitecore content items.
The Commerce Catalog Administrator role has full CRUD access to all catalogs, categories, products and variants. This include the ability to sequence items and create relationships to other items. This role does not have access to Inventory Catalogs, Catalog Sets, Catalog Maintenance operations or the ability to manage authorization for other Business Users.
The Commerce Catalog Sets Administrator role has full CRUD access to all Catalog Sets. This role does not have access to Catalogs, Inventory Catalogs, Catalog Maintenance operations or the ability to manage authorization for other Business Users.
The Commerce Inventory Administrator role has full CRUD access to all Inventory Catalogs. This role does not have access to Catalogs, Catalog Sets, Catalog Maintenance operations or the ability to manage authorization for other Business Users.
Initially, the Commerce Merchandiser role has the same Security Access Rights as the Commerce Catalog Administrator role. In general, most merchandiser Business Users should be added to this role. If the access for all Business Users is the same, this role can act as a convenience role for security administrators by modifying this role and having the access rights applied to all Business Users. This role is useful in establishing the common access rights that may be applicable to all Business Users that are part of your organization.
