Create a Dynamic Category

Abstract

Create a dynamic category and use a search rule to define child products.

Complete the following prerequisites:

In the Content Editor:

  1. Open the Home Item on the content tree.

    Browse to /sitecore/Content/Home

  2. Insert a new item based on the Commerce Dynamic Category template.

    1. Right-click the Home item and select Insert and then Insert from Template from the context menu.

    2. Select the Commerce Dynamic Category template.

    3. Type a name in the Item Name dialog box and click Insert.

      The system creates the item and opens the content pane.

  3. Build a default search query.

    Open the search pane and build a query using:

    • search terms

    • property names

    • search filters

  4. Save your search results.

    Click More Search Options, and then Search Operations, and then Save as DefaultQuery.
