The Developing role adds application shortcuts and commands commonly required by developers, although developers may also need to be assigned other roles as well, such as:

• Sitecore Client Authoring
• Sitecore Client Maintaining
• Sitecore Client Configuring
• Sitecore Client Securing

These are defined as separate roles to allow non-developers to have access to the features made available by each of these roles.  Please review each role carefully to decide if any given developer requires additoinal roles.

1.  Application Shortcuts

The Developing role adds the following application shortcuts and submenus to the Desktop interface’s Sitecore menu:

• Developer Center
• Debug
• Development Tools
  • Package Designer
  • Installation Wizard
  • Keyboard Map
• All Applications
  • Developer Center
  • Keyboard Map
  • Run

2.  Content Editor Commands

The Developing role adds the View tab View chunk’s Hidden Items, Standard Fields, and Raw Values toggles.

3.  Control Panel Commands

The Developing role adds the following Control Panel page and options:

• Database
  • Transfer Items to another Database
  • Compare Two Databases
