Microsoft released ‘MS09-019: Cumulative security update for Internet Explorer’ on June 17 2009 as KB969897.
After applying this IE update your browser may crash if you try to use HTML, Rich Text, IFrame or Security fields on an item which is not editable by the current user. This bug has been reported to Microsoft.
To work around the problem on existing Sitecore solution, perform the following changes:
- Place the following file to the \bin folder:
- In <controlSources> section of web.config, before the entry containing “Sitecore.Shell.Applications.ContentEditor” reference, add the following entry:
- For Sitecore 6: <source mode="on" namespace="Sitecore.Custom" assembly="Sitecore.Support.319883v6000" prefix="content" />.
- For Sitecore 5.3: <source mode="on" namespace="Sitecore.Custom" assembly="Sitecore.Support.319883v5300" prefix="content" />.
- For Sitecore 5.2: <source mode="on" namespace="Sitecore.Custom" assembly="Sitecore.Support.319883v5200" prefix="content" />.
- For Sitecore 5.1: <source mode="on" namespace="Sitecore.Custom" assembly="Sitecore.Support.319883v5100" prefix="content" />.
