Getting Started Portlet

This tab provides quick links for creating the most often used Item types – Layout, Sublayout and a Rendering. It also allows creating or opening any other file types.

• Create a New Layout.
  Click to create a new Layout. Create Layout Wizard will start.
  
  
• Create a New XSLT Rendering.
  Click to create a new XSL File. Create XSLT File Wizard will start.
  
  
• Create a New Sublayout.
  Click to create a new Sublayout. Create Sublayout Wizard will start.
  
  
• Create a File.
  Click to create a new file of any kind.
  
  
• Open an Existing Solution Item.
  Click to open a Solution Item (any Item from the layout area in the Sitecore database).
   

Common Tasks Portlet

This tab contains the list of the most common tasks.

• Open the SDN5 Website.
  Opens the SDN5 site in a new browser.
  
  
• Restore Workspace.
  Restores the DeveloperCenter workspace to a predefined state. The workspace can be saved by selecting Window » Save Workspace from the DeveloperCenter menu.
  
  
• Start Debugger.
  Starts the Debugger in a new browser.

Recent Files Portlet

This tab shows a list of recently opened files. The Open button allows opening a Solution Item which is not in the list, the Clear button clears the list and the Refresh button refreshes the list.
