Q:

W hy is a thumbnail in the media browser (the Open image button in the image template field) not visible?  See the screenshot below:

A:

To make the thumbnail visible, add the modify rights on the/website/temp folder for the NETWORK SERVICE group. Sitecore uses this folder to store resized png images of the images you open with the Media Browser.
