Upgrading from V5.0.3.4 or later

Please follow these steps to upgrade an existing 5.0.3.4 or later installation to Sitecore 5.0.7.3 release.

Note: you need to upgrade to Sitecore 5.0.7.3 before you can upgrade to the latest release.

Before beginning this or any Sitecore upgrade, be sure to make a full backup of your existing site.

Install the latest Sitecore release as directed in the installation instructions.

Sitecore stores some files outside of the database. Copy these files now.

Use the Publishing Wizard to perform a full publish of the site.

Rebuild the Search Index and Links database.

Visit your site and verify that all original functionality has not been negatively impacted.
