Sitecore CMS V5.3.1 rev. 070628 is released.
Change log:
Bugs fixed:
- DateUtil.ParseTimeSpan() method doesn’t parse days properly.
- Workflow auto-publish action of media item does not publish media/blob content.
- Access to items in different languages is inconsistent. User rights are denied at random for users when accessing items in new content languages created in Sitecore, while access to items in the primary (en) language is always maintained.
- Sitecore does not render layout with assigned renderings if LayoutPageEvent = "init" or "load".
- Virtual user login in Page_Load event of loginPage doesn't work.
- AJAX works fine in WebEdit mode even if a content marker is placed on the layout.
- Any event of any ASP.NET control does not work on login page that is specified in the loginPage parameter for
<site name = "website" … />
- Publishing of media items takes too long if the replacer mode is on in the web.config file and there are a lot of replacements. The replacer now skips the blob fields.
- Another paragraph issue in the RAD Editor.
- AJAX works fine on the Sitecore front-end now.
- Clicking the Delete button doesn't refresh screen in WebEdit mode.
- Confirmation window “This operation may take a long time to complete …” appears when a master with a lot of references is being renamed.
New features:
- HtmlEditor.SupportWebControls setting has been added to web config file.

- Credential cache is not cleared automatically.
- Create item from the Sample Item master and perform Incremental Publish with Danish language selected. The item appears in the WEB database but it has no versions in all languages. The following setting can be used to control this behavior: <setting name="Publishing.PublishEmptyItems" value="false"/>.
- Displaying the Standard Fields makes Sitecore hang for a while.
- Inserting a regular link (not a Sitecore link) in the RAD Editor may throw an error.
- Problem with lifecycle of nested controls.
- Boost functionality doesn't work in IE6.
- Set Table Properties dialog throws an exception.
- Media item link output by sc:link and search indexing problem.
- If you sort the multilist field, the size of the list on the right changes after each click.
New features:
- The "/App_Data" folder can be used for storing media. This folder has special built-in support for security. See the following links for details: http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/05/11/securewebapps/.
Also, the ASP.NET user has special privileges for this folder (which is set up by default):
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/f7fb46ye(VS.80).html
- The following setting can be used to specify the base of the cache:
<setting name="Media.CacheFolder" value="/App_Data/MediaCache"/>.
The site name will be appended to the string above in the final path. Thus the shell site will have the following (base) cache folder: /App_Data/MediaCache/shell.
