This upgrade requires the following files:

• Download the patch_Sitecore 5.3.2 rev. 090212.zip patch (ZIP archive, 1.86 Mb).
   
• Download the Upgrade from 5.3.1 rev. 071114 to 5.3.2 rev. 090212.zip package (Sitecore 5.3.2 package, 187 Kb).

To upgrade an existing Sitecore CMS 5.3.1 rev. 071114 installation to Sitecore CMS 5.3.2 rev. 090212, follow the instructions below. The same instructions can be used to upgrade an installation later than 5.3.1 rev. 071114.

1. Backup the site.
2. Stop IIS.
3. Extract all files from the patch_Sitecore 5.3.2 rev. 090212.zip archive to the Sitecore \bin directory.
4. Update web.config file. See the web.config changes page for details.
5. If the site uses the SQLite databases, change the following in the Timeouts.config file:
   <CommandTimeout>30</CommandTimeout>
   <SleepPeriod>100</SleepPeriod>
   <NumberOfTries>10</NumberOfTries>
   

   to

   <CommitPeriod>5</CommitPeriod>
6. Change the Prototypes.config file as follows: 
   <ItemNavigator type="Sitecore.Xml.XPath.ItemNavigator, Sitecore.Kernel"/>
   

   to

   <ItemNavigator type="Sitecore.Nexus.Xml.NexusItemNavigator, Sitecore.Nexus"/>
7. Start IIS.
8. Install the Upgrade from 5.3.1 rev. 071114 to 5.3.2 rev. 090212.zip package.
