Deploying collection models to xConnect

Abstract

How to deploy commerce collection models to your xConnect servers for use in xDB Data Migration Tool.

During the tenant upgrade process, the xConnect Endpoint is modified in order to use a new xConnect collection model. This collection model combines the Commerce collection model and the xDB Data Migration collection model.

This model must be deployed to your xConnect server.

Note

In addition to the new xConnect collection model, the commerce collection model must also be deployed to your xConnect collection server and your xConnect indexing server.

The following instructions include the steps needed to deploy both collection models to both services.

  1. In Content Editor, navigate to sitecore > system > Settings > Data Exchange > Providers > xConnect > Collection Models > xDB Data Migration Tool > Commerce Events Collection Model

  2. In the ribbon, click Convert Model to JSON

    Convert Model to JSON button in the menu ribbon.

  3. Save the file.

  4. Navigate to sitecore > system > Settings > Data Exchange > Providers > xConnect > Collection Models > xDB Data Migration Tool > xDB Data Migration Collection Model for Commerce

  5. Save the file.

  6. Deploy the two JSON files to your xConnect collection server.

  7. Deploy the two JSON files to your xConnect indexing server.
