The InDesign Connector access rights

Abstract

The roles and permissions that you can to set for an InDesign Connector user.

InDesign Connector users work with items from many different Sitecore folders. Therefore permissions need to be set for several content items and libraries. Also, the IDC user needs to have two basic Sitecore roles assigned. You can assign roles to users in the User Manager. The following table lists the basic Sitecore roles that an IDC user needs:

Roles	Permissions
Sitecore Client User	Standard Sitecore role that provides minimal access to Sitecore. The IDC user needs this role to be able to access the content items fields in the Content panel.
Sitecore Client Authoring role	Standard Sitecore role that provides access to basic item editing features. The IDC user needs this role to be able to change the workflow state in the IDC Workbox panel

In the Security Editor, you can specifically allow a security account the access to an item in the content tree. The following table list the content tree permissions an IDC user needs to have to be able to work with content items, snippets, renderers, and Media Library images. We recommend to assign permissions to roles rather than to individual users. Therefore, create an IDC user role and assign permissions for the following items:

/sitecore/Print Studio/Libraries/Snippets library	Write Rename Create Delete	Enables user to work with snippets in the Libraries panel.
/sitecore/Print Studio/Libraries/Renderers library	Write Rename	Enables user to rename renderers and folders containing renderers in the Extension panel.
/sitecore/Print Studio/Libraries/Content merge library	Read Write Rename Create Delete	Enables user to work with Content merge items in the Extension panel.
/sitecore/media library/…	Write Rename	Sets the Media browser start node.
