A Microsoft patch released in August of 2006 contains defects which cause browser crashes and JavaScript errors with numerous websites. Do not install KB918899 (see http://sdn.sitecore.net/Scrapbook/Warning%20%20MS%20cumulative%20security%20update%20918899.html). If a number of users suddenly report similar strange behavior, check for recent updates from Microsoft.
