Data centers for Managed Cloud Standard

Abstract

Learn about the supported Azure data centers and data center compatibility for Managed Cloud Standard.

The Sitecore Managed Cloud Standard offering incorporates a large list of data centers that include Azure Cognitive Search support. Before deploying into a data center, use this reference to understand the options available to you, and to compare the different data centers that are available for the services and locations that are appropriate to the size of your solution.

Supported data centers for Managed Cloud Standard

Because there are many supported data centers to choose from, use the Sitecore Knowledge Base to understand the options available to you, including:

  • The different areas available.

  • The region that the data centers are in.

  • Which topology (XM, XP, xDB) they are available to with Managed Cloud Standard.

By default, Sitecore XP requires PaaS services to run in Azure. The Azure data center compatibility table is a good reference to see which data centers accommodate this and it includes the following information:

  • The services available and regions that they are available in. The services include:

    • Azure Cognitive Search

    • Application Insights

    • Log Analytics

    • SolrCloud (SearchStax)

  • Alternatives for the default PaaS services.

Data center compatibility for Sitecore Managed Cloud

Not all data centers contain all of the PaaS services that a Sitecore XP deployment requires by default. Refer to the Azure data center compatibility table on the Sitecore Knowledge Base before you deploy to see if a data center that you want to deploy into satisfies your requirements. The compatibility tables provide information about:

  • The services that are available in all regions, including:

    • Web applications

    • Azure SQL

    • Redis cache

    • Application Gateway

    • Virtual network

    • VNet Gateway

    • Key vault

    • The Azure Content Delivery Network (CDN)
